This year Oak class has 29 children – all of whom are settling well in to their new classroom and showing a great attitude to learning. Here is what the children thought of their first week:
- I loved being a palaeontologist!
- Learning about dinosaurs is so fun!
- The maths challenges are really making me think.
- I’ve really enjoyed PE this week.
- Early morning tasks have got me ready for the day!
- Well done on a great start to the school year! Keep up the good work!
CurriculumThe curriculum is all the planned activities which we organise in order to promote learning, personal growth and development. It includes not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, but also the curriculum guarantees we as a school provide to develop the independence and responsibility of all of our pupils. We ensure that all children have a broad, balanced and relevant education which provides continuity and progression and takes individual differences into account. We aim to teach our pupils how to grow into positive, responsible people, who can work and co-operate with others while developing knowledge and skills, so that they achieve their full potential.
An overview of the curriculum is attached below:
You may find the following parents’ guide of use:
Spelling ListsThe National Curriculum gives guidance on the words children should be able to spell (majority) by the end of an academic year. The list of spellings is attached below:
Class StoryThe school uses a closed private social media site, Class Dojo, to message and share pictures of the children’s learning story. If you are a parent of a child in the class, please follow this link: https://www.classdojo.com/ and login using the credential provided by the school.
